Ball Joint: Service and Repair

31 12 042 - Removing and installing/replacing ball joint for control arm





Special tools required:
- 31 2 240 31 2 240 Puller





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove drive shaft
- If necessary, remove ride-height sensor Replacing Front Ride-Height Sensor
After completing tasks carry out wheel alignment.





Release nut and detach control arm with special tool 31 2 240 31 2 240 Puller.

Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts
Tightening torque 31 12 3AZ Control Arms and Struts (Front).





Release screws (1) and remove ball joint (2).

Installation:
Tightening torque 31 12 4AZ Control Arms and Struts (Front).
