Repair instructions

Repair instructions regarding torn or loose tension cable of the headlining

Complaint

The headlining of the convertible cover in the area of the C-pillar is loose. See Fig. 1.
The tension cable on the headlining has worn through or torn. See Fig. 2.

Cause

The tension cable has been damaged by the end stop of the convertible top. See Fig. 3.
This has caused it to wear through or it has got stuck and has torn off.

Repair instruction

Repair the tension cable with the parts kit.

Note

This part number is currently not created in the electronic parts catalogue, but it can already be ordered.
Replacement of the headlining is thus not necessary. In addition, fit a shrink-fit hose to the end stop as shown in Fig. 4.

Important!

When heating the shrink-fit hose, make sure that no vehicle components are damaged by the heat.
The shrink-fit hose should prevent the tension cable from wearing through on the thread of the end stop.
