Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair

Replacing Left Or Right Steering Knuckle
Special Tools Required:
^ 32 1 190
^ 32 3 090

Remove bearing (wheel hub).





Remove nut and disconnect steering tie rod ends using special tool 32 3 090 (1).





Remove nut and release control arm from steering knuckle using special tool 32 1 190
Outer ball joints to lower arm
M12 x 1.5 Nut 56 Nm
Note: Use only once.





Secure knuckle against falling off.

Release clamp bolt from knuckle and remove knuckle from strut.
Outer ball joint to knuckle
M10 x 1.25 x 12 Locknut 52 Nm
Note: Use only once.





Remove guard plate bolts (1) and remove plate from steering knuckle.
Dust shield to steering knuckle
M6 x 10 8 Nm





Remove bolts (1) securing ball joint.

Remove ball joint.
Outer ball joint to knuckle
M10 x 20 10.9 56 Nm
Note: Micro-encapsulated, use only once.

Fit new collar nut to driveshaft.
Output shaft to angular contact ball bearing
M22 x 1.5 stake nut 182 Nm
Note: Use only once.
