Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing/Sealing Throttle Assembly

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME.
- Check stored fault messages.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove suction filter housing. Please refer to:






Release clamp (1) and remove intake hose (2).






Unlock line (1) of tank venting valve on throttle assembly and disconnect.

Unluck plug (2) and remove.

Release screws (3).

Remove throttle valve assembly (4).




Tightening torque


Installation:



Replace sealing ring (1).

Installation:



Check dowel pins (1) for damage and replace if necessary.

NOTE:
A faulty throttle valve causes the adaptation values stored in the DME control unit be modified. These adaptation values must be reset after the throttle valve has been replaced.



Replacement Only:



Adaptation values and reset.
Connect diagnosis system:
- Diagnosis
- Model
- DME engine
- Control unit function
- DME 2000
- Component activation
- Reset adaptation values
- Electronic throttle

NOTE:
Now clear the fault memory.
