Muffler: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing/Replacing Rear Muffler (COOPER S)

Warning: Danger of scalding! Only perform this task after exhaust system has cooled down! Assistance is required to support exhaust during removal.





Remove center pipe to manifold flange fixings (1).

Install hint:
Replace seal.
Replace nuts.
Coat threads with copper paste - CRC,
Exhaust system to exhaust manifold
M10 60 Nm
Note: Replace nuts, coat threads with cooper paste.





Remove screws (1) from reinforcement plate.

Remove exhaust pipe.
Reinforcing panel to body 14 Nm





Remove exhaust system fixings (1) to rear hanger strap of the left muffler.
Clamp for final muffler
M8 15 Nm





Remove exhaust system fixings (1) to rear hanger strap of the right muffler.
Clamp for final muffler
M8 15 Nm
