51 43 148 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Trim On Left Or Right Door Pillar (Top)

Warning:
- Vehicles with head airbags:
- Read and comply with safety regulations for working on vehicles with airbag systems.

Important: Do not use any sharp-edged tools to remove the trim (risk of damage to head airbag).







Unscrew bolt (1).
Lever out sliding rail (2) for seat belt.

Installation: Tightening torque 36 Nm







Detach seat belt (1) from sliding rail (2).







Unclip rear side trim panel partially.
Release screw on trim for door pillar.







Release trim for door pillar.

Installation: Fit door seal correctly.







Feed out strap (1) and remove trim (2).







Important:
In event of incorrect fitting:
- Adjusting lever (1) breaks
- Adjusting lever (1) drops into belt case
- Seat belt blocked
- Rattling noises occur

Installation:
Adjusting lever (1) of trim (2) must be at same height as belt height adjuster (4).
When installing, insert adjusting lever (1) correctly into mounting (3) of belt height adjuster (4).
