51 31 043 Removing And Installing/Replacing Bottom Ornamental Strip For Windscreen, Left Or Right

Important: After cementing the windscreen, at least 2 hours must be allowed to elapse before fitting the ornamental strips at the bottom (windscreen breakage).

Note: Both trim strips are connected at the center by a guide sleeve for alignment purposes.







Completely open front door.
Detach door seal from metal flange (1).
Release screw for ornamental strip (2).
Lift wiper blade/arm (3) from windscreen.
Release ornamental strip from clips in direction indicated by arrows.
Repeat above procedure if both ornamental strips are to be removed.







If necessary, replace defective clips as follows:
Clip on body:
Use a small screw to remove expanding pin (1) from expanding rivet (2). Remove expanding rivet (2).

Clip on ornamental strip:
Press against clip in direction indicated by arrow and remove.
