SUBJECT
Trunk Warning Light is illuminated when Trunk is Closed

MODEL
R52 (MINI Convertible) from 1/7/06 to 2/11/06 production

SITUATION
When the trunk is closed, the trunk open warning light may be illuminated on the instrument cluster.

CAUSE
The plunger on the trunk light switch is too short.

PROCEDURE
Replace the trunk switch with improved part. Refer to repair instructions RA 6131250 for the replacement procedure.
