Convertible Top Trim Strip Replacement

R52 (Cooper & Cooper S Convertible)

INFORMATION

After replacing the left or right side convertible top trim strip (P/N 51 13 7 123 437 - left side or 51 13 7 123 438 - right side) in accordance with RA 54 34 350, it is important to follow the adjustment procedure outlined below to prevent the rubber lip of the trim strip from splitting.

PROCEDURE

Check the gap between the bottom of the rubber seal (1) to the body panel (2) in the areas indicated by the arrows.

The gap dimension should be between 0.50to 1.0 mm.





Note:
Right side of vehicle shown.





To achieve the required gap dimension, slightly loosen the bolts and slide the trim strip up or down (dimension A).

Once the gap is set to the proper dimension, torque the bolts to 2.4 Nm.
