Valve Cover: Service and Repair

11 12 000 Removing and installing/sealing cylinder head cover (W10)

Necessary preliminary tasks;
- Remove ignition coil block
- Remove connector strip for fuel injectors






Disconnect hose (1).
Disconnect crankcase breather valve (2).
Disconnect spark plug connectors
Remove wiring harness retaining clips from valve cover screws.






Remove valve cover screws.
Remove cylinder head cover.





Installation:
Check valve cover seal, replace if necessary.

Remove retaining screws from cylinder head cover.
Check rubber elements, replace if necessary.

Clean mating surfaces with suitable materials.






Installation:
Tighten down bolts in sequence 1 to 12.
Tightening torque 11 12 1AZ

Important!
Tighten down cylinder head cover in two operations.

Assemble engine.
