SUBJECT
Glove Box Does Not Open
MODEL
R52 (Cooper and Cooper S Convertibles) produced up to 9/04.
SITUATION
Glove box is hard to open or does not open.
CAUSE
Glove box handle has excessive friction between the outer springs and the ribs on the lid surface.
CORRECTION
Replace with improved glove box.
PROCEDURE
^ Replace glove box with P/N 51 16 6 959 970.
^ Follow Repair Instructions 51 16 360.
