Removing and Installing / Replacing Left or Right Convertible Top Trim Strip

54 34 350 - Removing and installing / replacing left or right convertible top trim strip





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Open loading aid Opening and Closing Loading Aid (Easyload)
- Remove auxiliary brake light Service and Repair





Note:
The right trim strip is removed in the same way as the left trim strip shown.

Release screws (1).

Remove trim strip.





Installation:
If necessary, insert wedge (2) for trim strip in tension bar.
Secure trim strip on tension bar with screws (1) (do not tighten down).





Adjusting trim strip in relation to window cavity cover strip:
Align trim strip with wedge to window cavity cover strip.
A = - 4.5 mm

Note:
Trim strips must be horizontally and vertically flush.

Tighten down screws in sequence.

Tightening torque 54 34 10AZ 54 34 Motor-Driven Convertible Top (Electrical Components).





Installation:
Carry out function test.
Tension bar must immerse flawlessly into body.
Trim strip seal must rest correctly on body cutout.
