Tailgate Latch and Striker

Tailgate closure is achieved by use of a conventional latch secured to the tailgate opening lower panel, and a striker, which is secured to the tailgate.
Opening the tailgate is achieved by depressing the release switch, which is housed in the rear license plate lamp housing trim.
