Replacing Both Rubber Mounts For Stabilizer Mounting On Front Axle Carrier
Special Tools Required:
^ 32 1 190
^ 32 3 090

Remove bumper carrier.

Remove road wheels.





Remove left and right bolts holding crush tube to modular front end (1).

Do not release bolts (2).
Modular front end (MFE) to front axle carrier extension legs
M8 x 30 22 Nm
M6 x 16 5 Nm





Remove PAS reservoir nuts (1) from bulkhead.
PAS reservoir bracket to secondary bulkhead
M8 x 1.25 x 20 19 Nm





Remove nuts and disconnect left and right track rod ends using special tool 32 3 090 (1).
Outer ball joint to knuckle
M10 x 1.25 x 12 Locknut 52 Nm
Note: Use only once.





Disconnect left and right stabilizer lower links to stabilizer bar (1).
Front anti-roll bar link to anti-roll bar
M10 x 1.5 56 Nm
Note: use only once.





Remove the nuts and disconnect left and right lower arm to knuckle ball joints using special tool 32 1 190
Outer ball joints to lower arm
M12 x 1.5 Nut 56 Nm
Note: Use only once.





Remove nut (1) and remove bolt.

Disconnect steering column from rack.

Release steering column in direction of arrow.
Replace self-locking nut.
Lower universal joint clamping nut
M8 Nut 22 Nm
Note: Use only once





Remove engine lower stabilizer (2) retaining bolts (1) from engine and subframe.
Lower stabilizer to oil sump holder 100 Nm
Lower stabilizer to front axle 100 Nm





Locate gearbox hydraulic jack (1) to subframe jacking point (2)





Remove left and right front subframe center bolts (1) to body.
Front subframe centre to body
M12 x 1,75 x 18 100 Nm
Note: Self forming.





Remove bolts (1) retaining left and right compliance bush housing (2) to body.
Compliance bush housing to body
M10 Screw 59 Nm + 90° ± 15°

Caution: Ensure transmission jack is supporting subframe.





Remove left and right bolts (1) holding rear of subframe to body. Slacken left and right bolts (2) and lower subframe.
Front subframe rear to body
M12 x 1.75 x 61.7 100 Nm
Note: Self forming.





Lower subframe just enough to allow removal of the bolts (1) retaining left and right compliance bush housing to subframe.
Compliance bush housing to subframe
M14 x 1.5 x 80 165 Nm
