Ball Joint: Service and Repair

Replacing Wheel Guide Joint In Control Arm Ball Joint To Frame (Left Or Right)
Special Tools Required:
^ 32 1 190

Remove front road wheel.





Left hand control arm only (Xenon lights).
Remove retaining bracket (1) of angle joint from control arm.

Install hint:
Ensure bracket is refitted in correct orientation.





Remove nut.

Press control arm of steering knuckle with special tool 321 190.

Renew self-locking nut.
Outer ball joints to lower arm
M12 x 1.5 Nut 56 Nm
Note: Use only once.





Remove bolts (1) securing ball joint.

Remove ball joint.
Outer ball joint to knuckle
M10 x 20 10.9 56 Nm
Note: Micro-encapsulated, use only once.
