51 43 002 Removing And Installing Rear Left Or Right Side Trim Panel (JCW GP)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove load bar
- Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel
- Remove trim on tail panel
- Remove luggage compartment light







Unlock catches (1) and remove cover.
Undo screws (2 and 3)







Important:
- Risk of damage.
- Trim panels for B- and C-pillars may be damaged when side trim panel (1) is removed.

Tape off trim panels for B-pillar (3) and C-pillar (4) with adhesive tape (2) as illustrated.







Detach mucket (1) from rear lid cutout and door pillar.

Unfasten side trim panel (2) at clips (3) and retainers (4).
Carefully guide side trim panel (2) past B-and C-pillar trim panels and feed out in inward direction.

Installation:
If necessary, replace faulty clips and/or retainers.
Correctly position side trim panel (2) in area (A).
Correctly install mucket (1) for door and rear lid.
