R50/R53 Video module

All audio and video signals of the navigation system run through the video module before they reach the display and/or audio system.

The video module is also used as a television receiver and also contains a videotext function. Two TV amplifiers amplify the TV signals for the video module. The antennas on the left-hand and right-hand rear door windows receive the TV signals.

The video module controls the on-board monitor via RGB lines. Depending on the mode of operation, the sound for voice output of the navigation system is switched through to the output of the AF lines to the radio.

The video module is located under the left-hand front seat.
