Fluid Pan: Service and Repair
24 11 001 - Removing and installing/sealing or replacing transmission fluid sump
Note:
After completion of work, check transmission fluid level.
Important!
Use only the approved automatic transmission fluid in this automatic transmission. Fluid Type Specifications
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the automatic transmission!
Do not drain fluid before the transmission has cooled down.
Unscrew retaining nuts (1) of expansion tank/power steering and remove expansion tank from bulkhead.
Remove underbody protection Service and Repair.
Remove wheel arch trim for front left wheel Service and Repair.
Remove both impact tubes 31 11 020 - Removing and installing/replacing bumper bracket.
Remove mounting bolts (1) and (2) of lower stabilizer.
Tightening torque 11 12 16AZ 11 12 Cylinder Head and Cylinder Head Cover.
Tightening torque 11 12 17AZ 11 12 Cylinder Head and Cylinder Head Cover.
Position hydraulic gearbox jack (1) at jacking point (2) on chassis subframe.
Remove bolts (1) holding the housing of rubber mount (2) at the left and right on the car body.
Undo center bolts (1) for left and right chassis subframe at vehicle body.
Tightening torque 31 11 1AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Disconnect headlight position sensor (1) (depending on equipment).
Release bolts on left and right (1) approx. 10 mm and lower chassis subframe.
Note: Do not remove the hydraulic transmission lifter during this work step.
Tightening torque 31 11 2AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Remove retaining clip (1) of assembly underside protection.
Drain off transmission fluid Service and Repair
Unscrew fluid sump mounting bolts in specified sequence (13-1) and remove fluid sump.
Tightening torque 24 11 3AZ. [1][2]Fluid Pan, CVT
Remove sump gasket.
Clean sealing surfaces.
Installation:
Tighten down screws fluid sump mounting bolts in specified sequence (1-13).
Replace oil sump gasket.
Make sure fluid strainer is correctly positioned on valve block.
