thermostat and Housing

the thermostat is located in the cylinder head and is retained by a plastic housing (aluminum on COOPER S). the thermostat begins to open at 89-92�C and is fully open at 103�C.
the MINI COOPER thermostat housing also incorporates the cooling system pressure cap (MINI COOPER S system pressure cap is installed on the expansion tank).
