Repair instructions regarding the rippled cover and loose material on the roof panel

Complaint

The customer complains about a loose convertible cover on the roof panel.

Cause

At high outside temperatures, the convertible cover can come loose from the roof panel. This can lead to flapping noises while the vehicle is being driven or deficient folding of the cover on opening the sliding roof. See Fig. 1.

Repair instruction

Remove the convertible cover in line with repair instructions RA5434120 until the strip shown in Fig. 2 is accessible. As shown in Fig. 3, two additional clips must be retrofitted on the left and right.

Note

The convertible cover does not have to be removed completely!

The additional clips must be fitted first around 15 mm (A) from the cutout for the service hatch.
