Water Pump: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing/Replacing Water Pump

Special Tools Required:
^ 11 8 401
^ 11 8 402

Turn off ignition.
Disconnect battery.
Drain cooling system.
Remove alternator.
Lower front end module.





Remove bolts (1) from both crush tubes.

Remove bolts (2) holding both crush tubes to subframe and remove crush tubes.
Modular front end (MFE) to front axle carrier extension legs
M8 x 30 22 Nm
M6 x 16 5 Nm





Fit special tool 11 8 401 and 11 8 402





Remove hose pipes (1) from water pump.

Remove fixings/bolts (2).

Remove water pump (3).
Water pump to crankcase
M8 30 Nm
