Replacing Spark Plug Tube Oil Seal
Special tools required:
^ 24 1 040

Remove cylinder head cover.





Using a suitable tool, carefully remove spark plug seal (1).

Note: Care should be taken not to damage the cylinder head cover sealing surfaces.

Replace seals, if seals show signs of hardness and cracking.

Protect cylinder head cover prior to removing and installing spark plug seal.





Clean all sealing surfaces.

Install hint:
Install seal (1) using special tool 24 1 040

Note: Only use hand pressure when installing seal.

Lightly lubricate seal prior to installing cylinder head cover.
