SUBJECT
"REG OFF" Displayed on NG C53 Cassette Radio
MODEL
R50 (Cooper), R53 (Cooper S) from start of production
SITUATION
The "PEG OFF" display appears and stays for approximately 2 seconds on the C53 (cassette) New Generation radio every time the radio is turned on.
CAUSE
The "REG ON/OFF" function (associated with the alternative frequencies feature) is not available in the US market. If "PEG OFF" is displayed when the radio is turned ON, this is normal behavior on the C53 unit.
INFORMATION
With the radio turned ON, press and hold the RDS button until "REG ON" appears in the display. In this mode, "PEG OFF" will no longer be displayed when the radio is turned on.
DO NOT REPLACE TUB RADIO WHEN THIS TYPE OF COMPLAINT IS ENCOUNTERED.
