Ball Joint: Service and Repair

Replacing Wheel Guide Joint In Control Arm Ball Joint To Frame (Left Or Right)
Special Tools Required:
^ 32 1 190

Remove front road wheel.





Left hand control arm only (Xenon lights).

Remove retaining bracket (1) of angle joint from control arm. Ensure bracket is refitted in correct orientation.





Remove nut.

Press control arm of steering knuckle with special tool 32 1 190

Renew self-locking nut.
Outer ball joints to lower arm
M12 x 1.5 Nut 56 Nm
Note: Use only once.





Remove bolts (1) securing ball joint.

Remove ball joint.
Outer ball joint to knuckle
M10 x 20 10.9 56 Nm
Note: Micro-encapsulated, use only once.
