Coolant Pump
Removal and Installation
1. WARNING: Before servicing a vehicle equipped with a fire suppression system, depower the system by following the procedure in Fire Suppression System. Failure to follow the instructions may result in serious personal injury. Procedures
Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.
2. Loosen the 4 coolant pump pulley bolts.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Accessory Drive Accessory Drive Belt.
4. Remove the 4 bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
5. Remove the 4 bolts and the coolant pump.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

NOTICE: Do not rotate the coolant pump housing once installed in the engine. Damage to the O-ring seal can occur, causing the coolant pump to leak.
NOTE: Align the mounting holes in the cylinder block with the mounting holes on the coolant pump prior to installing the coolant pump in the cylinder block.
NOTE: Install a new O-ring seal and lubricate with clean engine coolant.
To install, reverse the removal procedure. If equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system.
- Clean all sealing surfaces with metal surface prep.
7. Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.
