Pinpoint Test F: The Roof Opening Panel Control Switch Illumination is Inoperative
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 71, Cluster and Panel Illumination for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
When the accessory delay relay energizes, voltage is supplied to the roof opening panel control switch through circuit CBP41 (BU), turning on the switch illumination. The switch illumination is grounded through circuit CPR39 (VT/WH), from the roof opening panel module.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Roof opening panel control switch
PINPOINT TEST F: PINPOINT TEST F: THE ROOF OPENING PANEL CONTROL SWITCH ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVE
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
-------------------------------------------------
F1 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE ROOF OPENING PANEL CONTROL SWITCH
- Operate the roof opening panel from the switch.
- Does the roof opening panel operate?
Yes
GO to F2.
No
REFER to Sunroof / Moonroof.
-------------------------------------------------
F2 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP41 (BU) FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Roof Opening Panel Control Switch C930.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between the roof opening panel control switch C930-2, circuit CBP41 (BU), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
INSTALL a new roof opening panel control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
