Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes
Removal and Installation
1. WARNING: Shut off the electrical power to the air suspension system prior to hoisting or jacking an air suspension equipped vehicle. Failure to do so may result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which may result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
If equipped, turn the air suspension switch OFF.
2. WARNING: If equipped with fire suppression system, refer to Fire Suppression System for Important Safety Warnings. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury Procedures.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
3. Disconnect each transmission fluid cooler tube from the transmission fluid cooler, as necessary.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
4. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tube(s) from the transmission fluid cooler tube retainer.
5. Remove the nut retaining the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket to the A\C compressor.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
6. Disconnect each transmission fluid cooler tube from the transmission, as necessary.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
7. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose(s) from the transmission fluid cooler tube(s).
8. Remove the bolt retaining the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket to engine and remove the transmission fluid cooler tube(s).
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).
9. WARNING: If equipped with fire suppression system, refer to Fire Suppression System for Important Safety Warnings. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury Procedures.
To install, reverse the removal procedure. If equipped with a fire suppression system, reapply power to the system.
- Fill the transmission to the correct level with transmission fluid. Inspect for leaks.
