PINPOINT TEST A: THE BSIA SYSTEM DOES NOT RELEASE/LOCK CORRECTLY

A1 CHECK FOR DTCs
- Connect the scan tool.
- Ignition ON.
- Check for the following DTCs, P1572, P1703 or B1484.
- Are any of these DTCs set?
Yes
For DTCs P1572 or P1703, REFER to Cruise Control. For DTC B1484, REFER to Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems. [1][2]Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions
No
GO to A2.

A2 CHECK CIRCUIT 810 (RD/LG) FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: Brake Shift Interlock Actuator (BSIA)C2008.
- Measure the voltage between BSIA C2008-2, circuit 810 (RD/LG), harness side and ground, while applying and releasing the brake pedal.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts with the brake pedal applied and less than 5 volts with it released?
Yes
GO to A5.
No
GO to A3.

A3 CHECK CIRCUIT 810 (RD/LG) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Lighting Control Module (LCM) C2145A.
- Measure the resistance between BSIA C2008-2 and LCM C2145A-6, circuit 810 (RD/LG), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to A4.
No
REPAIR circuit 810 (RD/LG) for an open. If no open is found go to GO to A6. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.

A4 CHECK CIRCUIT 810 (RD/LG) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure the resistance between BSIA C2008-2, circuit 810 (RD/LG), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
GO to A7.
No
REPAIR circuit 810 (RD/LG) for a short to ground. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.

A5 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between BSIA C2008-1, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
REPLACE the BSIA. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR circuit 57 (BK) for an open. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.

A6 CHECK CIRCUIT 810 (RD/LG) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Measure the voltage between BSIA C2008-2, circuit 810 (RD/LG), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
REPAIR circuit 810 (RD/LG) for a short to voltage. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to A7.

A7 CHECK LCM BRAKE INPUT VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: LCMC2145B.
- Measure the voltage between LCM C2145B-5 and ground while applying and releasing the brake pedal.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts with the brake pedal applied and less than 5 volts with it released?
Yes
GO to A9.
No
GO to A8.

A8 CHECK CIRCUIT 1651 (WH/RD) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between the output side of Central Junction Box (CJB) fuse 28 (7.5A) and the LCM C2145B-5, circuit 1651 (WH/RD), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
INSTALL a new LCM. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR circuit 1651 (WH/RD) for an open. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.

A9 CHECK CIRCUIT 640 (RD/YE) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between the output side of Central Junction Box (CJB) fuse 26 (10A) and the LCM C2145A-5, circuit 640 (RD/YE), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to A10.
No
REPAIR circuit 1651 (WH/RD) for an open. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.

A10 CHECK CIRCUIT 640 (RD/YE) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure the resistance between the output side of Central Junction Box (CJB) fuse 26 (10A) and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
INSTALL a new LCM. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR circuit 640 (RD/YE) for a short to ground. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.
