Crankshaft Rear Seal









Removal

1. WARNING: Before servicing a vehicle equipped with a fire suppression system, depower the system by following the procedure in Fire Suppression System. Failure to follow the instructions may result in serious personal injury. Procedures

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Remove the flexplate. For additional information, refer to Flexplate [1][2]Flexplate.

3. Using the Crankshaft Rear Oil Slinger Remover and Slide Hammer, remove the crankshaft oil slinger.





4. Using the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Remover and Slide Hammer, remove the crankshaft rear seal.





Installation

1. NOTE: Lubricate the inner lip of the crankshaft rear seal with engine oil.

Using the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installers, install the crankshaft rear seal.





2. Using the Crankshaft Rear Oil Slinger Installer and Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installers, install the crankshaft oil slinger.





3. Install the flexplate. For additional information, refer to Flexplate [1][2]Flexplate.

4. WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to Fire Suppression System. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury. Procedures
