Test E: The Power Liftgate Chime Is Inoperative

PINPOINT TEST E: THE POWER LIFTGATE CHIME IS INOPERATIVE

Normal Operation
The power liftgate (PLG) chime is controlled by the PLG module. To activate the chime, the PLG module supplies a high frequency voltage output on circuit CPR56 (VT/BN) and ground on circuit RPR56 (GY/VT).

- DTC B236A Chime Output Circuit Open - If chime output feedback voltage is greater than 3.5VDC, the PLG module will set this DTC.
- DTC B2903 Chime Output Circuit Short to Battery - If chime output feedback voltage is less than 3.3VDC, the PLG module will set this DTC.
- DTC B2940 Chime Output Circuit Short to Ground - If diagnostic feedback voltage is greater than 0.9VDC for PWM duty less than 80%, the PLG module will set this DTC.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Chime
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
