Removal and Installation

All vehicles
1. Remove the fuel tank.
2. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor electrical connector.

Taurus and Sable
3. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel pump (FP) module quick connect coupling.

Taurus X partial zero emission vehicle (PZEV)
4. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-FP module quick connect coupling.

Taurus X federal emission
5. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-safety valve quick connect coupling.
6. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel level sensor quick connect coupling.

All vehicles
7. Release the retainer clips and remove the fuel vapor tube assembly.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. Testing and Inspection
- Carry out the evaporative emission repair verification drive cycle.
