Removal and Installation
1. Remove the rear lamps.
2. Remove the 8 rear bumper cover screws (4 each side) and 2 scrivets (1 each side) in the wheel well.
3. From inside the luggage compartment, remove the luggage compartment trim panel.
4. Remove the 2 plastic rivets (1 each side) from the upper rear bumper cover.
- When installing the rear bumper cover, the special tool must be used to install the new rivets.







5. Remove the 3 rear bumper cover pin-type retainers on the underside of the beam.
6. Remove the 6 rear bumper cover nuts.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

7. Disconnect the rear parking aid electrical connector, if equipped.
8. Disconnect the license plate lamp electrical connector, if equipped.

9. NOTE: The forward upper portion of the bumper cover must be pulled outward to unclip it from body.

Remove the rear bumper cover.

10. Inspect the bumper cover mounting reinforcements for damage. If necessary, install new bumper cover mounting reinforcements before installation.







11. Inspect the spacer block on center of beam for damage. If necessary, install a new spacer block before installation.
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
