Removal

1. WARNING: Shut off the electrical power to the air suspension system prior to hoisting or jacking an air suspension equipped vehicle. Failure to do so may result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which may result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

If equipped, turn the air suspension service switch to the OFF position.

2. WARNING: Before servicing a vehicle equipped with a fire suppression system, depower the system by following the procedure in Fire Suppression System. Failure to follow the instructions may result in serious personal injury.

If equipped with fire suppression system, depower the system.

3. CAUTION: Do not use heat to loosen a seized wheel nut. Heat can damage the wheel and wheel bearings.

Remove the wheel cover or ornament and loosen, but do not remove, the wheel nuts.
4. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

Installation

1. WARNING: Remove all dirt, foreign material or corrosion from the mating surfaces of the hub and wheel prior to installing the wheel assembly. An incorrectly cleaned mating surface may result in insufficient clamp load between the wheel and hub. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).

Position the wheel and tire on the vehicle.

2. CAUTION: Failure to tighten the wheel nuts in a star pattern can result in high brake disc runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness, shudder and vibration.

Tighten the wheel nuts to 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) in a star-pattern.

3. NOTE: If the wheel cover is attached by plastic retainer nuts, make sure to tighten them to specification.

Install the wheel cover or ornament.

4. WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to Fire Suppression System. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
