Removal and Installation

1. WARNING: Before servicing a vehicle equipped with a fire suppression system, depower the system by following the procedure in Fire Suppression System. Failure to follow the instructions may result in serious personal injury.

Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and position aside the coolant outlet adapter and hose.
^ To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove the O-ring seal and the coolant thermostat from the intake manifold.
^ Inspect the O-ring seal, install a new seal if necessary.

4. WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to Fire Suppression System. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

To install, reverse the removal procedure. If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system.
5. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
