Test E: The Power Seat Does Not Recline - Passenger
PINPOINT TEST E: THE POWER SEAT DOES NOT RECLINE - PASSENGERNormal Operation
The seat control switch is powered by battery voltage to circuit 517 (BK/WH) and is supplied ground on circuit 57 (BK). When either forward or rearward recliner positions are selected on the seat control switch, power and ground is applied to circuits 918 (GY) and 919 (GY/BK) powering the recliner motor to move the seat forward or rearward. When the opposite switch position is selected, the seat control switch reverses the voltage polarity to the recliner motor to move the seat in the opposite direction.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Faulty circuit
- Faulty seat control switch
- Faulty recliner assembly
