FIRE SUPPRESSION MODULERemoval and Installation
1. WARNING:
- To reduce the risk of accidental deployment, do not use any memory saver devices when depowering the fire suppression system. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
- If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, disconnect the battery before anyone gets under the vehicle or near the rear axle area. You could unintentionally deploy the fire suppression system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion pad and frame.
1 Apply pressure to the lower front portion of the rear seat cushion pad and frame.
2 Push the rear seat cushion pad and frame rearward to disengage the rear seat cushion front retainers.
3. WARNING: The tightening torque of the fire suppression module (FSM) bolts and the FSM orientation on the body of the vehicle is critical for correct system operation. Always tighten and orient the FSM per specifications. Failure to do so may result in incorrect fire suppression system operation, which increases the risk that it will not protect vehicle occupant(s).
Remove the 4 bolts and the fire suppression module.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
4. WARNING: The tightening torque of the fire suppression module (FSM) bolts and the FSM orientation on the body of the vehicle is critical for correct system operation. Always tighten and orient the FSM per specifications. Failure to do so may result in incorrect fire suppression system operation, which increases the risk that it will not protect vehicle occupant(s).
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
