Pinion Flange: Service and Repair
Drive Pinion Flange and Drive Pinion SealSpecial Tool(s):
Material:
Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the driveshaft.
3. Remove and discard the drive pinion flange nut.
4. Using the special tool, remove the drive pinion flange.
5. Remove and, if necessary, discard the drive pinion seal.
Installation
1. Using the special tool, install a new drive pinion seal.
2. Install the drive pinion flange.
3. Install a new drive pinion flange nut.
^ Tighten to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the driveshaft assembly.
