Normal Operation
The TCM communicates with the scan tool through the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN). Circuits 1908 (WH) (HS-CAN +) and 1909 (BK) (HS-CAN -) provide the network connection to the TCM. The constant velocity transmission (CVT) and the 6-speed transmission both communicate on the HS-CAN network. The TCM shares the HS-CAN network with the powertrain control module (PCM), the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module, the restraints control module (RCM), the differential electronic module (DEM) and the instrument cluster. Voltage and ground for the TCM is provided by redundant circuits. Circuits 1523 (DG) and 926 (LB/OG) provide voltage, and circuit 1203 (BK/LB) provides ground.

- Circuit 1203 (BK/LB) open
- Circuit 1523 (DG) open
- Circuit 1908 (WH) open (HS-CAN +)
- Circuit 1909 (BK) open (HS-CAN -)
