Removal
All vehicles
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the battery and battery tray.

3.0L engine
3. Install the universal lifting brackets on the LH side of the engine.





4. Using the special tools, support the engine.





5. Remove the 2 bolts from the transaxle insulator.





3.5L engine
6. Remove the upper intake manifold.
7. Install the special tool on the LH cylinder head.





8. Install the special tools and support the engine.





9. Remove the transaxle support insulator through bolt.





All vehicles

10. NOTE: 3.0L engine shown, 3.5L engine similar.

Remove the 2 upper bolts for the rear transaxle insulator.





11. Remove the 4 screws and position the LH fender splash shield aside.





12. Remove the 6 pin-type retainers and the LH front structure-to-subframe splash shield.





13. Remove the 2 lower bolts for the rear transaxle insulator and remove the insulator.





Installation
All vehicles
1. Clean the rear transaxle mount bolts using a wire brush and apply new threadlock to the threads.
2. Position the transaxle mount in place and install the 2 lower bolts.
- Tighten to 62 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).





3. Position the LH front structure-to-subframe splash shield in place and install the 6 pin-type retainers.





4. Position the LH splash shield in place and install the 4 screws.





5. NOTE: 3.0L engine shown, 3.5L engine similar.

Install the 2 upper bolts.
- Tighten to 62 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).





3.5L engine
6. Install the transaxle support insulator through bolt.
- Tighten to 130 Nm (96 ft. lbs.).





7. Remove the special tools.





8. Remove the special tool from the LH cylinder head.





9. Install the upper intake manifold.

3.0L engine
10. Install the 2 transmission insulator bolts.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.).





11. Remove the special tools.

12. Remove the universal lifting brackets from the LH side of the engine.





All vehicles
13. Install the battery and battery tray.
