PINPOINT TEST B: THE MESSAGE CENTER SWITCH DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

Normal Operation
The message center switch is hardwired to the instrument cluster through circuits CMC29 (GN/VT) and RMC27 (WH/BN). To communicate the requested switch function, each message center switch button uses a different resistance value, allowing the instrument cluster to determine which switch is pressed.

DTC B1209 - sets on-demand if the instrument cluster detects that any of the message center switch buttons are stuck or pressed for more than one second during the instrument cluster self-test.

Possible Causes
- Circuit CMC29 (GN/VT) open, short to ground or voltage
- Circuit RMC27 (WH/BN) open, short to ground or voltage
- Message center switch
- Instrument cluster
