Removal and Installation

WARNING:
- Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
- Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
- Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before servicing or disconnecting any of the fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spraying of fuel. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury or a fire hazard.
- This procedure involves fuel handling. Be prepared for spillage at all times and always observe fuel handling precautions. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury
.

1. WARNING: If equipped with fire suppression system, depower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to Fire Suppression System.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Release the fuel system pressure.
3. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
4. Disconnect the front fuel tube-to-fuel tube spring lock coupling.
5. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge valve tube-to-EVAP vapor tube quick connect coupling.

6. CAUTION: Some residual fuel may remain in the fuel lines and fuel filter after releasing the fuel system pressure. Upon disconnecting or removing any fuel-related component, carefully drain residual fuel into a suitable container.

Disconnect the fuel tube-to-fuel filter spring lock coupling.

7. Disconnect the fuel tube-to-fuel filter quick connect coupling.
8. Disconnect the EVAP tube-to-fuel vapor control tube assembly valve quick connect coupling.
9. Disconnect the fuel tube-to-fuel pump module spring lock coupling.
10. Remove the 8 fuel supply retainer clip bolts.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

11. Remove the fuel supply and EVAP vapor tubes from the vehicle.

12. WARNING: If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to Fire Suppression System.

To install, reverse the removal procedure. If equipped with fire suppression, repower the system.
