Rear Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR AND MOTOR






Removal and Installation
1. Remove the rear door trim panel.
2. Remove the door speaker.







3. Rotate the lock rod downward to align the shaft with the slot in the door lock linkage.







4. Slide the lock rod out of the door lock linkage.







5. Disconnect the door lock and rear window motor electrical connectors.







6. Remove the 3 door latch screws.







7. Remove the access hole cover.







8. NOTE: If the door window regulator motor is inoperative, remove it.

Lower the window until the glass clamp bolt is accessible through the access hole plug, then loosen the glass clamp bolt.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

9. Tape the window glass in position.







10. Disconnect the 5 wiring harness retainers and the wiring harness grommet.







11. Remove the interior door handle bolt.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).







12. Remove the 8 bolts from the door module.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

13. Feed the wiring harness and grommet, and the interior door handle and cable through the openings in the rear door module, then remove the door module.
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
