Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) monitors the luggage compartment anti-theft inhibit switch on circuit CPL14 (GN/BN) for a ground signal. The luggage compartment anti-theft inhibit switch is a normally open switch. When the key is turned to the unlock position the anti-theft inhibit switch completes the circuit to ground on circuit GD171 (BK/RD) signaling the SJB that an authorized entry to the luggage compartment is occurring. The SJB inhibits the alarm from sounding until the luggage compartment lid is closed then adds the luggage compartment lid to the protected entry points.

Possible Causes
- circuit CPL14 (GN/BN) open or short to ground
- circuit GD171 (BK/RD) open
- luggage compartment anti-theft inhibit switch
- SJB
