Anti-Theft - Perimeter
ANTI-THEFTNOTE: The integrated key is a standard passive anti-theft system (PATS) key with a remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter incorporated into the key head.
The anti-theft perimeter protection feature is controlled by the smart junction box (SJB). The alarm can be armed by:
- using the LOCK button in the RKE transmitter, located on the head of the integrated key.
- using the driver or passenger door lock control switch if the corresponding door is open when LOCK is actuated.
- pressing 7/8 and 9/0 simultaneously on the RKE keypad.
The SJB monitors the doors, hood and luggage compartment lid and activates the alarm in the event of an unauthorized entry.
The luggage compartment lid lock cylinder does not disarm the vehicle's perimeter alarm. However, the luggage compartment alarm can be temporarily inhibited through the luggage compartment anti-theft inhibit switch by opening the luggage compartment using the luggage compartment lock cylinder, the RKE transmitter or the RKE keypad. Once the luggage compartment lid closes, the perimeter alarm system immediately starts monitoring the luggage compartment ajar switch (part of the luggage compartment lid latch) again. The perimeter alarm can only be disarmed by unlocking the vehicle using the RKE transmitter, the driver door lock cylinder, by cycling to RUN a valid programmed key in the ignition lock cylinder, or by entering a correct vehicle code on the RKE keypad.
If any of the doors, luggage compartment lid or hood are opened once the alarm is armed, the alarm activates the visual and audible alerts.
