Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.





2. Remove the 7 bolts and the splash shield.
3. Place a drain pan beneath the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor.





4. Remove the OSS sensor.
^ Disconnect the electrical connector.
^ Remove the bolt.
^ Inspect the OSS bore.





5. Inspect the O-ring seal for nicks or cuts, install a new O-ring if necessary.

Installation

1. NOTE: Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly to the O-ring before installation.





Install the OSS sensor.
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
^ Connect the electrical connector.





2. Install the splash shield and the 7 retainers.





3. Check the transmission fluid level and add automatic transmission fluid as necessary.
4. Start the engine and move the transaxle range selector lever through all gear positions.
