3.0L 4V - MIL ON - WITH MULTIPLE COIL DTC CODES

ISSUE
Some 2005 Taurus and Sable vehicles equipped with a 3.0L 4V engine may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on with multiple coil on plug diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) (P035X), with no driveability symptoms.

ACTION
Make sure the battery connections are tight and the battery junction box connector locking nut is fully seated. Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 47.7 and higher or 48.1 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2007.3 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained the website.
