Test D: The Rear Window Wiper Stays on Continuously
PINPOINT TEST D: THE REAR WINDOW WIPER STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLYD1-D4:
Normal Operation
Under normal operation the rear window wiper motor (Freestyle only) receives power through circuit 406 (BN/WH) and is grounded through circuit 1205 (BK). The rear window wiper motor receives open and ground inputs from the wiper switch through circuits 485 (PK/BK) and 488 (DG) to activate the rear window wiper to the one of the two available intermittent speeds.
Possible Causes
- Short to ground in circuits 406 (BN/WH), 485 (PK/BK), 488 (DG) or 1205 (BK).
- Inoperative wiper switch.
- Inoperative rear window wiper motor.
