Power Window Motor: Testing and Inspection
DOOR WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATIONCAUTION: Make sure that no obstructions are present in the window system when carrying out this procedure.
NOTE:
- A new or de-initialized LH front power window motor will only operate in proportional up/down mode until initialized. A new LH front window motor only needs initialization. If a new LH front window motor has been installed, proceed to the initialization steps.
- The original LH front power window motor must be de-initialized, then initialized whenever the LH front window motor is removed from window regulator drum housing, a new LH front window regulator is installed, a new LH front window glass is installed, a new LH front glass top run is installed, or for any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the LH front window regulator or glass run.
- All LH front window components (window glass, window regulator, window motor, and glass top run) must be installed and tightened to specification before carrying out this procedure.
- If the initialization procedure is only partially completed, the LH front window motor will remain un-initialized and will operate only in proportional UP or DOWN mode.
De-Initialization
