Selector Lever
Selector LeverRemoval
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the center console.
3. Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the selector lever.
4. Depress the tab on the shift cable connector and lift up on the shift cable to remove it from the housing.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the wire harness from the shifter in 3 locations.
7. Remove the RH plastic retaining clip for the carpet.
8. Remove the LH plastic retaining clip for the carpet.
9. Remove the 2 front shifter bolts.
10. Remove the 2 rear shifter bolts and the shifter from the vehicle.
11. Slide the lower shift knob bezel downward.
12. Remove the bolt and lift up on the shift knob to remove.
13. Remove the lower shift knob bezel.
14. Disconnect the light for the PRNDL bezel.
15. Release the 4 locking tabs and remove the PRNDL bezel.
Installation
1. Install the PRNDL bezel.
^ Make sure that the 4 locking tabs are snapped in place.
2. Connect the light for the PRNDL bezel.
3. Install the lower shift knob bezel.
4. Install the shift knob and bolt.
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
5. Slide the lower shift knob bezel up and snap it into place.
6. Install the shifter and the 2 front bolts.
^ Tighten to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the 2 rear shifter bolts.
^ Tighten to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.).
8. Connect the wire harness to the shifter.
9. Connect the electrical connector.
10. Install the LH plastic retaining clip for the carpet.
11. Install the RH plastic retaining clip for the carpet.
12. Push the shift cable into the housing. Make sure that the tab on the shift cable connector is locked in place.
13. Connect the selector lever cable end to the selector lever.
14. Install the center console.
15. Check the shift cable adjustment. Make sure that the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL and the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE. If an adjustment is necessary, refer to Selector Lever Cable Adjustment.
