Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Adjustments
Selector Lever Cable AdjustmentAll vehicles
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the air cleaner and the outlet pipe.
CVT transaxle
3. Disconnect the shift cable end.
4. Place the manual control lever in NEUTRAL.
5. Place the gear shift lever in NEUTRAL.
6. Slide the release tab toward the back of the cable end to unlock the adjuster.
7. Pull out on the adjuster locking tab.
8. Slide the cable end either backward or forward to align it with the manual control lever.
9. With the adjuster locking tab released connect the shift cable end to the manual lever.
10. Push the adjuster locking tab in to lock it in place.
11. Slide the release tab back to lock the adjuster.
6-speed transaxle
12. Disconnect the shift cable end.
13. Place the manual control lever in NEUTRAL. Markings should indicate that the manual lever is in the NEUTRAL position.
14. Place the gearshift lever in NEUTRAL.
15. Slide the release tab toward the back of the cable end to unlock the adjuster.
16. Pull out on the adjuster locking tab.
17. Slide the cable end either backward or forward to align it with the manual control lever.
18. With the adjuster locking tab released, connect the shift cable end to the manual lever.
19. Push the adjuster locking tab in to lock it in place.
20. Slide the release tab back to lock the adjuster.
All vehicles
21. Install the air cleaner and the outlet pipe.
22. Verify that the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.
